Business Need

TasteMakers Research Group was approached to conduct quantitative consumer taste tests among target demographics to determine preference among four different product formulations containing various amounts and types of base ingredients.


A PopUp CLT™ (Central Location Test) was set up at the base of Runyon Canyon in Hollywood – an exercise and leisure hike enjoyed by thousands per day with a stunning view of the Hollywood sign. An incomplete block design survey was administered with each participant evaluating only two flavors. 


Over 300 taste-tests were collected in one day and used for product flavor improvements while considering various vendor and ingredient prices.
