Business Need

Korean food company OurHome selected TasteMakers Research Group to conduct U.S. consumer taste tests to address the following objectives: 1) Assess the acceptance and purchase intent of Korean foods in the U.S. and 2) Conduct comparative taste-tests between three popular Korean soups for U.S. launch consideration.

Solution

Both business objectives were accomplished simultaneously as each participant took both the assessment and tasting portion of the study.  The PopUp CLTs™ (Consumer Location Tests) were conducted in the Los Angeles market and included a national representative sample of 20%.

Results

The acceptance results combined with a winning soup led to the subsequent product optimization and final consumer taste tests among key U.S. ethnic groups for product launch.
